Major site changes at Whangārei Hospital included new pay-for-parking systems and the construction of new maternity, administration, and ER facilities. With these changes, and regular issues with lost visitors, the time was right to review the approach to site-wide vehicle and pedestrian wayfinding.

DallowBoss was engaged to provide wayfinding strategy and design services to Northland DHB. Working closely with the on-site team, an approach for information delivery was devised to provide a structured hierarchy and a branded format for all arrival signage.

The first elements to be installed have solved immediate issues around identifying entry points and car parks – with signage presented in a highly visible, unified language across a suite of modular structures that provide greater authority and recognition.
