Napier’s Parks & Reserves
Role:
Client:
Armed with a refreshed identity, Napier City Council was seeking to bring consistency to the identification of their amenities and messages within the city’s open spaces.
Taking a city-wide approach, DallowBoss devised a family of sign structures and formats to suit different applications and spaces. Parks, sports grounds, dog exercise areas, beach reserves and freedom camping hotspots to roadworks and streetscape developments, all needed signage that visually belongs to Napier.
Anderson Park has been a useful testing ground to prove new ideas and treatments before committing to rolling out the family to other parks. It includes a range of park ID panels and posts, map panels and bollards with pavement icons to identify dogs on and off-lead areas.
Signage guidelines are being finalised and the council team is putting internal processes in place to manage signage requests and designs moving forward.
