Christchurch Town Hall

Role:

Wayfinding Strategy & Design

Client:

Vbase, Christchurch City Council

The Christchurch Town Hall renovation project has required careful consideration for the integration of refurbished and reinstated heritage signage and new wayfinding elements. DallowBoss was commissioned to review requirements and devise a wayfinding strategy that integrates the two.

Heritage signage requirements were established, and new supplementary plinth structures, clad with polished brass and black laser-etched graphic panels with integrated braille, were produced to be sympathetic to heritage material use and architectural forms.

This combination of the heritage, new structures and digital signage enables the operations team to provide more comprehensive wayfinding and variety of event-specific information. We are thrilled to have been able to contribute to giving this renowned venue a new lease of life.
